What other movie in the long history of movies opens with a scene in which the eponymous hero crashes his motorcycle into a tree and explodes?
None. Chariots of Fire tried, but the formula doesn't work for runners. Great movie, obviously, but fun too. Long, but in a good way--Sonny Rollins long, not never ending Lionel Hampton on his xylophone long. Really, who plays a xylophone?
