I, Robot

I have never read any of Isaac Asimov's books, so I can't speak to the movie's faithfulness, but here goes: not a bad way to spend two hours meditating on a hypothetical robot dystopia. I started the movie with very low expectations, wisely, I thought, given the gloomy convergence of Will Smith, Dudley what's-his-name from L.A. Confidential (in hologram form, no less), computerized class conflict, and "robot empathy". . . ? Anyway, a good, stupid American movie. What's wrong with that?
