Slothrop: What with Reaganomics and Bush's smirk finally destroying all of Slothrop's remaining humble stacks of legal tender, a steadfast diet of canned cat-food is just about all that's left on the menu. And so but then Koko, always sensitive to the needs of a starving man, said to Slothy, "Slothy, go buy yourself a cow-burger, on me, and starve to death a little bit later." Excited to eat something not smelling of wet mush, Slothy was just about out the door when his Playstation 3 whispered that Mega Man 9 was ready for download. And what with Koko's credit card on file, Slothy mused, sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a burger and an 8-bit robot that fights evil robots, and Koko always insists that fine distinctions like this are for aesthetes and fairies. And so $10.82 billed to Koko's credit card later, Slothrop found himself playing a game made in 2008 with the soul and heart and aesthetics of one made in 1990. Plus, it should be clear from the picture above, the sensibility of The Dude's comedown nightmares. So before he starves to death, Slothrop will at least put a cap in Dr. Wily's nefarious plans to take over the world for the 9th time. The future and wall street and every bank on the planet are about to explode. Thank goodness, then, for a future that exits in the past in a game made in the present about the past in the future. And for Koko, that most generous gorilla.

Amazing really, that in the worst financial crisis of my lifetime, I've managed to land a job that will see [xxxx] more in my paypacket each month. (I won't be vulgar and disclose the amount). Never one for prudence, I urge you to start working on that Whole Foods shopping list. I'm coming to cooooook you non-cat food pie for a week. In return, I need someone to teach me guitar hero. Also, if McCain and that fucking freak alien swamp-donkey wench get what's coming to them we'll go to Uchi. You do remember I'm coming four weeks on Thursday, right? x
