Smart Boris: Now, I'm no Alex Ross, but I do know that Kinderszenen sucks. So it came as quite a shock this evening when I heard something by Robert Schumann that isn't simpleminded and gooey. (Below, Schumann ponders his music's general crappiness.)
I cannot live in a world whose sun shines on this Teutonic wookie. His work should be buried under the moon and forgotten. God, why do I not despise everything he wrote? I'm a failed human being.
