Max Dugan Returns

Ass-Headed Bottom: Do you realize Neil Simon has been married five times? In other words, he should have some idea that life blows, so why has he insisted on tormenting us with his ceaseless good-humor, the quality least relevant to the twentieth century? Jason Robards' character actually survives this movie despite entering it with a terminal illness. Donald Sutherland and Marsha Mason actually fall in love despite being visible to each other. Matthew Broderick actually launches his career despite an apparently sincere affection for Neil Simon (see Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues). Why am I even posting on this?

Koko: For playing Hickey to perfection in Sidney Lumet's The Iceman Cometh, Jason Robards can spend the rest of eternity molesting children or setting fire to small animals and suffer nothing in return. He's earned it. Even this Simonic irrelevance leaves him unscathed; yes, he is untouchable.

Slothrop: I do not understand this movie poster.
