It's an extraordinary talent that makes ass-weinies like the Jeff Daniels character so mercilessly repugnant and, yes, forgivable, simultaneously. Films like this make our hearts larger--as long as we don't look away. But how can you look away when there's a chance William Baldwin will show up in the next scene, brother? But best of all this film intertwines Park Slope, Brooklyn and The Wall. Stupendous. A-
