Spartan

An entertaining Bourne-esque plot-tiwster, but with Val Kilmer instead of Matt Damon, which, despite Val's skills, is not an upgrade. And Mamet's presence felt slight at best. B-

Koko: B minus, eh? That's pretty generous.
I'm thinking more like, I don't know, a D,
Because, let's face it, knives we took from Germans?
That's bad Chekhov, and illiterate.
Maybe it's best not to assign a grade
To this one, and, instead, to send it back
To Mamet with "revise and resubmit"
Printed in big, bold letters at the top.
This movie is a Brave New World of stupid.
Also, "Bourne-esque" does not much recommend it.
