Half painted kitten, half psychotic rage,
Is a hypnotic presence to behold.
And Brian Viglione, with his mad
Commedia dell'arte drumming, stupefies
(And thus deserves two extra syllables).
The Dresden Dolls exude intoxication,
Delighting in performance as an art,
Not in the mere expression of a song
But in spontaneous, brittle decreation,
Never at rest, always revising, lost
In the dark middle places of their craft. A-
