Besides being a pretty good movie all around, Quiz Show reminds us that intellectuals in this country once took Mark Van Doren seriously. I like to think that Columbia inherited its karmic middle finger for firing the boss's son when they felt the meteoric whoosh of a young Andrew Cooper passing them by as he traded in their Van Doren-canning calumny for someplace special.

Quiz Show
