Blow

A good story, however unoriginal, told in a fun fast-paced way. Which is often what happens when the camera wishes to deceive the viewer into mistaking form for powdery substance (see Slumdog Millionaire for a more recent example). Too bad because Johnny Depp is terrific.

Koko: I don't know which came first, but I like to think of Blow as Johnny Depp's warmup for Donnie Brasco. We all shank a few balls before the match. What matters is how you hit once the big board records the score. Also, Pee-Wee Herman as a backstabbing coke dealer? Not bad.
