Slothrop: First half, great. Second half, sententious. Above all, a much better movie during the portions when nothing is said. And how important to the movie is Wall E's identity as a robot? He's more human than most of the blubbery humans. Have people become sad, failed versions of mechanical gadgets? Looking at this movie poster makes Slothrop so sad with loneliness and sick with cuteness.
