Koko: Because this movie has absolutely no reason to exist we shouldn't ask that it explain itself. It doesn't hurt anyone, so I say let it be. If it were a dog, it would fall down a lot and need diapers, but it wouldn't bite anyone, and even if it did, no rabies, so why not? Besides, it's not half as bad as Rocky VII or whatever promises to be, when he comes out of retirement at the age of eighty to fight a giant bear.
